Lake Yosemite is a freshwater lake located approximately 5 miles east of Merced, CA in the rolling Sierra Foothills.[1]
In 2007, a portion of the Mythbusters' James Bond Special was filmed at Lake Yosemite. The experiment consisted of a speed boat making a jump and continuing to operate safely.

[edit] Operation
Lake Yosemite is a resevoir used for irrigation purposes. Construction was completed in 1888. It is currently owned by Merced Irrigation District.[2]
[edit] Tower
The lake's mysterious tower was built in 1889. The tower was built to channel the water the five miles to the city.
Many tales and horror stories have been told about this landmark. The most common story is of the lady in white. According to the story, the ghost has long flowing white hair and wears a long white gown. She walks around the tower cat walk and on the dam looking for her lost lover.[3]
