Lake Julius was built in 1976 for irrigation and town water storage just below the junction of the Leichardt River and Paroo Creek. It has a full supply capacity of 127 000 mega litres, a surface area of 1420 hectares at an average depth of 8.9 meters.
SunWater is undertaking a dam spillway capacity upgrade program to ensure the highest level of safety for our dams is maintained. The spillway will be upgraded in the longer term. [2]
