[edit] Pronunciation of name
Does anyone know how she pronounces her name? Like LY-la, or LAY-la. You pronounce her name LAY-la. from paul
does anyone know how she influenced society?
She pronounces her name as LAY-la. In my opinion, with a little help from Christy Martin, the Webber sisters and others, she gave women's boxing exposure, now some women's fights are main events, which several years ago, it women's boxing was seen as a joke. Maya Levy 05:03, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
- Women's boxing is still a joke that nearly all are uninterested in. Layla is able to have her fights as main events only because she carries the Ali name and is drop-dead beautiful.-24.186.220.44 04:31, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
I'm sure her 24 opponents would disagree with that statement.Big Poppa Ray (talk) 15:12, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Cleanup
There's a lot of good information here, but the article needs to have more standardized formatting. Please also see WP:CITE for advice on formatting references. If you have questions, let us know! --Elonka 01:43, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
- why at the end does it says she is in the porn industry now. She is not! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.32.81.254 (talk • contribs) 16:06, February 21, 2007
- Looks like it was just random vandalism. It's cleaned up now, but if you see that kind of thing again, and there doesn't appear to be any kind of proof that the information has a reliable source, feel free to remove it on the spot. --Elonka 23:51, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Super Middleweight
Laila is listed as a Super Middleweight, which would be 161–168 lbs., but the Super Middleweight link takes one to a Wiki article that seems to apply only to men. Are the weight divisions the same in women's boxing? Does anyone know what Laila's fighting weight is?

-
- It says that she is 175lbs in the Trivia section of the article which would make her not Super Middleweight.. she could have possibly lost weight for DWTS Save-Me-Oprah 18:05, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
Her regular weight is 175. When training for a fight, she loses seven pounds (not uncommon for boxers), which brings her fighting weight to 168. The documentary Daddy's Girl shows how she barely made weight for the Gwendolyn O'Neil fight.Big Poppa Ray (talk) 15:06, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Stepchildren?
Should it be mentioned that she now has three stepchildren through her marriage to Curtis? (MgTurtle 19:54, 23 July 2007 (UTC)).
