Laguna del Sauce

The Laguna del Sauce is the largest water body in Uruguay's Maldonado Department, covering 50 square kilometres. The lagoon is 12 km long and 6 km wide.[1] It is 15 km far from Punta del Este.

The Laguna del Sauce International Airport is in the south or southwest coast of the lagoon.

Any kind of non-motor powered water sports are allowed,[1] such as wind surfing (see the picture). Nevertheless, in some afternoons it is possible to see people doing those kind of sports.
