Laguna Phuket Triathlon

The Laguna Phuket Triathlon (LPT) is considered Southeast Asia's premiere triathlon. The race was created in 1994 by IMG, Laguna Phuket Resorts and PCH Sports. LPT is one of the world's most successful "destination distance" triathlons meaning that it does not conform to any of the standard triathlon distances. LPT's race distances of 1800 m swim, 55K bike and 12K run were designed to provide participants with a unique challenge and to showcase the venue. LPT's list of champions includes Mike Pigg, Paula Newby-Fraser, Mark Allen, Simon Lessing, Greg Welch, Michellie Jones, Craig Alexander, Carol Montgomery, and Samantha McGlone. When The 2007 Laguna Phuket Triathlon will be held at Laguna Phuket on Sunday, 2 December 2007 beginning at 7.00 am.

Where The upscale Laguna Phuket Resort occupies 600 acres (2.4 km²) of tropical beachfront parkland on the northwest coast of Phuket island in southern Thailand.
