I believe that following standard business usage it would be more appropriate to write the first lines as 'Labatt is a Canadian brewery.' and 'It was purchased by InBev.' or words to that effect. It has to do with corporate politics. --McDogm 14:44, 30 May 2005 (UTC)
The claim that Blue was the top-selling beer brand in Canada until 2004 is untrue. For most of the eighties and nineties, Molson Canadian was the top-selling brand. See: http://www.cassies.ca/caselibrary/winners/MolsonsCase.pdf "Canadian established itself as the number one beer in Canada in the mid–80s, and solidified its lead in 1994 with 'I am Canadian.' In recent years, however, Labatt's regained momentum with 'Out of the Blue,' while Molson stumbled creatively."
I'm changing the claim to indicate that it was "one of the top 2" beer brands until 2004. I think it's generally believed to be number 4 now.Pageblank 23:57, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Year of Acquisition by InBev
This article currently says that Labatt was acquired by InBev in 1991, which is incorrect. The acquisition took place in 1995. See this page from the official Labatt web site: http://www.labatt.ca/english/lbc_company/lbc_main.htm "Since 1995, Labatt been part of Belgium-based InBev S.A."
