I am surprised by the sentence:

"Until 1999 the paper was widely perceived as pro-catholic."

Can anyone cite a source to explain the words "Until 1999"? Why did the perception change (suddendly)? The assertion seems dubious to me. I thought it was still rather pro-catholic. Thanks. --Edcolins 06:50, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

This is a copy of the phrase which I have removed from the article:

"It supports Iran's president Ahmadingad calling for the extermination of Israel. It is a dangerous Antisemitic newspaper."
