La Fama (TV series)

La Fama was a Mexican reality series set to find a new child star in 1999. It focused on mainly as a singing competition, but also provided dancing and acting lessons to the contestants.

14 children (7 boys and 7 girls), ages 8-12 were chosen in a nation-wide search to enter the new competition.

Each week, each contestant were scored on their performances, scores ranging from 1-10.
[edit] Up For Elimination
Each week, the 2 contestants that scored the least amount of points were put up for elimination. Each received a number for support from the public. The one who received the lowest number of votes was eliminated.

The 14 contestants started at the Beginner Stage. Once 5 people were elmininated the Intermidiate Stage began. The Professional or Pro Stage began when the 4 finalists were revealed. The winner was known as the Graduate: the only one who passed all three stages.

The winner received a record deal and an acting contract for a telenovela.
