KVDA signed on September 10th, 1989 as a Telemundo affiliate from its 1989 to the present.

KVDA a full-service television station, owned and operated by NBC Universal and serves the San Antonio television market. as the Telemundo station. The station broadcasts in analog on UHF channel 60 and in digital on UHF channel 38. KVDA is a television station and runs programming from the Telemundo network and is a full-power television station that operates with 5000 kw of power.

Noticiero 60 was the name of KVDA's newscast that begin in 1992 which competed with KWEX's news broadcast until 2007 when budget cuts announced by Telemundo's parent company NBC-Universal, this newscast was replaced in early 2007 by a regional newscast based out of the new Production Center in Dallas, which houses newscasts of sister station KXTX.[citation needed]
