Kushwaha (कुशवाहा) is the surname of the people who belong to the caste Koire. Maurya, Shakya, Saini, Mali, Mide, Mahto, Gehlot, Dangi, Kachi, Kachwaha, and Hardia also belon to the Kushwaha family. Mauryan dynasty ruled all over India in ancient time (322–185 BCE).
