Kurtdereli Mehmet Pehlivan was born: 1864 in Deliorman, Bulgaria died: 1939 in Balıkesir, Turkey was a wrestler. He lived most of his life in Kurtdere where is a 2000 people village 40 km away from Balıkesir city center.
He wrestled with all famous wrestlers of his time and was very famous. He traveled to France, Great Britain, The Netherlands and the USA but was never defeated.
