Kurortny District

Kurortny District (Russian: Куро́ртный райо́н) is a district of Saint Petersburg, Russia, located on Karelian Isthmus along the northern shore of the Gulf of Finland. Population: 67,511 (2002 Census). It includes the municipal towns of Sestroretsk (population 40,287) and Zelenogorsk (pop. 12,074), as well as the municipal settlements of Beloostrov (1,690), Komarovo (1,062), Molodyozhnoye (1,437), Pesochny (6,487), Repino (2,011), Serovo (252), Smolyachkovo (568), Solnechnoye (1,161), and Ushkovo (482).
Tourism in the district is driven by Finnish bus tours. The current hotel stock is predominantly economy class, with few four star hotels. Plans to develop the regions hotel stock are coming to fruition, but the area lacks strong tourist demand.
