Talk:Kummelweck

What about the history of the kümmelweck? I think it has its origins in Germany where it's called Kümmelwecke or Kümmelweckle. --PM123 18:00, 7 January 2007 (UTC(

[edit] Where Kummelweck Is Found

Kummelweck only being produced in the Buffalo-Rochester region of New York is false. It's produced in much of Western New York and even in Erie, Pennsylvania (although, it's not very popular in Erie). Beef on weck is especially popular in Jamestown, New York and outlying areas.

[edit] Three most distinctive dishes?

Along with buffalo wings, beef on weck is one of the three most distinct dishes of the region.

Umm, what's the third one? Triskele Jim 19:04, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

What "region?" For example, I've not seen garbage plates in the western Buffalo area, my husband's home ground, but they are (unfortunately) common in Rochester. If you're including Rochester in the "region," you can mention Chicken French as well. If you're including Naples, you can add grape pies. And I thought one of the "three most distinct dishes" referred to garbage plates as well. McKrekk (talk) 11:43, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
