This article needs a rewrite, especially near the end (use of "you" isn't good and especially "I am sure you will enjoy..."). In fact I'd consider this a stub and will now mark it as such.

For practitioners of full contact karate, "pulling" a technique and "controlling" a technique are very different. "Pulling" a technique is throwing that technique such that, although it is thrown with full force, it is stopped just before, or just after contact is made. "Controlling" a technique is throwing the technique properly (with good form), to the desired target, and with appropriate force.
Also many styles of full contact karate do not practice full contact kumite in the dojo at all times. A common rule is for the more advanced karateka to fight at slightly above the level of the less advanced
