[edit] Why are we removing results from previous years?

I'm very disturbed that results of the championship from previous years are being removed as new results are added. Wikipedia isn't a newspaper that has to keep up with the latest information only. We need to preserve the results from previous years for historical and research purposes. People come to Wikipedia precisely to answer questions like "Who won such-and-such contest in 2005?"
