As it stands, this needs reliable sources to back up the statements made. For the moment, all that is sourced is the fact that he died. The rest looks dangerously like original research. I'll give this article a few days before blanking all the unsourced parts. yandman 11:31, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

Granted Lakalibrary is a forum, however the newspaper reports that it highlights are indeed genuine and internet searching will confirm there genuineness. I have added some other references which should satisfy you. Kerr avon 11:40, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

I'm not sure that these other sources ("tamilcanadian", for example) are reliable. The first sentence of the article linked to contains "...assasins cowardly...", which rings alarm bells for me as regards the impartiality asked of a reliable source. Haven't we got any more BBC/CNN/reuters sources? yandman 12:16, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

I removed the tamilcanadian link which was a editorial and instead added a link which although is from tamilcanadian, it is a verbatim copy of a article which appeared in the Sunday leader newspaper. Hopefully that should suffice.Kerr avon 18:40, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
There are several points to be noted, there is no evidence that the state was involved, evidence points to it been a personal act by Mahen Ratwatte. CBK may have been guilty of shielding the Ratwatte family from subsequant investigation as they are related to her, however there is no evidence linking CBK or the state to the assasination. The truth will probably be never known as the assasin was most probably silenced before he could testify.Kerr avon 18:59, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
