Kumudini College

Kumudini College (Bengali: কুমুদিনী কলেজ) is a women's college affiliated by the national university. It is located in Paradise Para, Tangail. The college runs under the Kumudini Welfare Trust. Kumudini College was regarded to be the third girls' college of East Bengal after Eden Girls' College and Sylhet Girls' College.[1]The first principal of Kumudini college was Srimati Jotirmoy Ganguli.

Kumudini College was established in 1943 by Ranada Prasad Saha (R.P.Saha), a philanthropist and educationalist. He named it after the name of his mother Kumudini. At the beginning, the college started its journey only with eight students. Later on, the college was shifted to a warehouse. In 1945, Ranada Prasad Saha shifted it to a new place, which has become its permanent site.

The college offers higher secondary and degree (pass) programmes. It also has Honours and Masters Programmes in 16 subjects.

The college has hostel facilities for its students and it can accommodate 450 girls. It also provides rich library.

The college arranges cultural, literary and sports programmes for its students. Kumudini College has reputation for its Girl Guide troop.[1]
