Kumamoto Domain

The Kumamoto Domain (熊本藩 -han?) was han or a Japanese feudal domain that was located in Higo Province (present-day Kumamoto Prefecture) apart from Kuma District and Amakusa District and part of Bungo Province (present-day Oita Prefecture). It was also known as Higo Domain (肥後藩 -han?). The headquarters of the domain was located in the Kumamoto Castle in the present-day city of Kumamoto.
