Should this page be moved to Kult (game) or Kult (rpg) since there is now a Kult (band) article as well?

Perhaps? Why not? As long as it isnt a *big* problem, we dont need to do nothing about it :) Noone 10:59, 26 Apr 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Kult and Occult Organisations

I would rather say that the game Kult draws on similarities and magical orders based on millennia-old beliefs systems, not the opposite, honestly.

I think I agree with you there, I honestly don't know why Dragon Rouge is even mentioned, as the in-game magic does not really contain anything like that. The copy the I own (The English 1st edition, published by Metropolis) contains a large section on magic, in which it disscuss (in a rather exaggerating & dark tone) several occult traditons, the majority of which are old long-practiced world belifes. The only excetion to this is Satanism, which in the game has almost nothing in common with the real-world religion. In Kult they are just the loyal servents of Astroth and his Death Angels.
Above all else, it should be noted that these 'occult traditions,' really have no impact in the way magic is played in the game. Mostly because they are only there to help with the background knowledge, and personaitly of charcters. The actual magical system itself uses a lores/schools of magic like most other RPGs, and ultimatly one's background has no major effect on the magic used in the game. Rumours say the game and/or its designers were condemned by the papacy. Does anyone have sourced information on this? Johan L 23:06, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] History

The list of editions in different languages is not complete. I own one set of first edition books in german, including the rulebook and OK-KULT (supplement only available in german). —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Recombine (talk • contribs) 19:09, 23 December 2006 (UTC).

I believe The OK-Kult is not something Germany-specific. The supplement contains parts of other books which have been published in both Swedish and English. See the Swedish Game Master Screen, the English magic books, the Illusion #1 Poster and the Swedish sinkadus magazines. 88.88.112.231 20:50, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Plagiarism?

This appears to be mostly word-for-word from http://www.kult-rpg.com/wiki/kult - it would appear someone has lifted one from the other. - 203.87.69.229 07:13, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

They have adapted our text, not vice versa, I think. Their earliest draft is from January, and I compared our drafts from that time to theirs, and it seems the relevant passages appeared here first. --Agamemnon2 11:41, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
Very true. Sorry about that. I suspect it was copied over because the article here has been edited by some of the members on www.kult-rpg.com. Anyways, I hope I've cleaned it up now. -torb 88.88.112.231 20:40, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
