Kuebrich

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kuebrich is a surname of a small group of farmers who immigrated from the Bavarian towns of Bamburg and Nordhalben to the United States, circa 1900. Although the name exists only in Germany and the United States, its roots are most likely Chekoslovakian, where the relatively more common name Kubricht exists.

At the beginning of the 21st century, approximately 100 years after Kuebrichs first immigrated to the United States, there were on the order of a few hundred Kuebrichs in America. At this time, there were a similar number of Kuebrichs in Germany.

Although the Kuebrichs who immigrated to the United States were farmers, most present-day Kuebrichs are professionals. Mathematical and mechanical aptitude seem to be a common traits, as many in the family are engineers or mechanics. Physicians and lawyers are also widely represented in the family ranks.
