KSOQ was previously owned by the Astor Broadcast Group as KFSD playing alternative rock music. The station was known as Premium 92/1, programmed by Mike Halloran. KFSD now broadcasts adult standards music on the AM dial at 1450 kHz.

Prior to that, the station was known as KOWF-FM, known for its country music and local studios in Escondido.
