The first entry in trivia says, "This character has a niche in science-fiction history: It is believed that this was the first robot/android ever to give a human the finger." If I recall correctly, one of the Skutters did this in an episode Before Kryten appears. Tiberius47 08:25, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

No no, giving a V sign and giving "the finger" are two different gestures which mean two different things. In any case it's a fairly spurious claim - why not say "the first robot/android to wear a toupee"? Pointless. 86.140.81.159 (talk) 17:46, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

There is a previous example of a robot (not an android, and not autonomous) making this gesture towards a human. Near the begining of the movie Short Circuit, 1986, a robot arm is playing the piano. Steve Guttenberg's character commands it to give the finger to the character played by Austin Pendleton. This scene is usually edited from the TV versions, but is present in the DVD. They tried a Swedish and American accent? What exactly is an American accent? That's like saying they tried a Eurasian accent; it doesn't really tell you anything. --77.99.30.226 14:36, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
