The charge about the felony has to be verified. I have tried to check this myself and was unable to find any outside information. I would post one of those "hand stop" icons, but I am new to posting, so I haven't quite figured that out yet. Newphase

I found the information and posted it, now someone has taken it out of the current version. If you are interested in this information it is in the page archive. It is probably not really that significant as far as his life is concerned but the person who took it out suggested in the edit summary field that it was defamatory to list that information. It is not defamatory to put in factually accurate information even if it is negative. I think that a lot of this article is just taken from KD's web site and it is not really an NPOV article about him, we all need a little healthy criticism, Wikipedia is not a promotional or fan site. • Hi Alex756, I was not the first to remove your posting and probably wouldn't be the last. Just for the record, I have only done minor punctuation editing to this article and I am certainly not a fan. In fact, I have never even listened to his records or anything like that. The problem I, and I believe others, have had with your posting is that Wikipedia now has very exact policy about defamatory comments in biographies. And though your link does show an apparently legal notice, all it has is the name Jeffrey Kagel, which I am certain is a fairly common name. Your posting has caused me to do extensive research on the subject and I can find no other information about the arrest of Krishna Das/Jeffrey Kagel anywhere. For this reason, I believe it is within Wikipedia guideline to remove your negative posting, unless you can provide further verification that it was, in fact, about Krishna Das/Jeffrey Kagel. • The posting is entirely valid. The court record is public information and can be viewed online at the PACER website. The record lists the defendant as "Jeffrey Kagel a/k/a KD." There is no defamation. His conviction is a matter of fact.Sb700 03:55, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

Just wondering, how did you find this information out? Did you read a newspaper article somewhere, or did you randomly decide to search the PACER archives, or ... what? Also, were there any other details on the court record that would help to convince skeptics of his identity? Or else any reports in newspapers, etc? 00:02, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

• You may or may not be making this up about KD, but you are certainly misleading everyone by saying that the Pacer website is easy for anyone to access. The pacer website is in fact very difficult to access. They won't even send you a password online, only by snail mail. It is highly unlikely that he could have been convicted and it not hit at least one newspaper, in which case it would have shown up in a lexis nexis search. I suggest you copy and paste the info on this page from that site, since it so difficult to access.

You are mistaken about the PACER website--I have received my password online several times. It is user friendly. Regarding media coverage, the case against Krishna Das does not appear to have ever gone to trial; rather, he pled guilty to the charges, so there is no reason for the information to have ever been picked up by the media.

I fail to understand why people keep taking this information off the entry. I have provided the case number and it is easily accessable to anyone who wants to look for it. Certainly the PACER system qualifies as a reliable source by Wikipedia standards. I learned about Krishna Das' conviction from people familiar with the case. If you want further confirmation, why don't you e-mail Krishna Das and ask him about it directly? If the entry were false I am sure he would have had it removed himself.

I suggest you copy and past the whole section from that website here, or no one will believe it. Wikipedia has enough problems without people putting impossible to confirm info that is slanderous in nature on its site.

It appears that someone named Alex756 continues to post libelous information on this page. He is no longer posting under his name, but the same ip address keeps popping up. I have restored the information regarding KD's conviction. It is sourced and the public record is fully cited. To call this "libel" is a total misunderstanding of that very specific term. "Libel" is not the same thing as "information you do not like."
