As of 2001 India census[1], Indas had a population of 10,000. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Indas has an average literacy rate of 74%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 73%, and female literacy is 70%. In Indas, 14% of the population is under 6 years of age.

By road , distance to kolkata is 134 kms and By south eastern railway distane to kolkata is 100 kms near about.Some parts of the proposed south eastern railway Bankura to Howrah is under construction , but the tarins is keep on Bankura to Patrasayer , the other parts will open come soon . This is the first south eastern railway was established between Bankura and Indas by the british government.Newly this was sanction by Mamta Banerjee (former rail minister).

By road , distance to Bankura is 85 kms and By south eastern railway distane to Bankura is 65 kms near about.And distance to Bishnupur(subdivision of Indas) is 53 kms. nad no direct connection to Bishnupur by train. and the nearest town is Burdwan, this is also the another busiest rail station of WestBengal.
