Snow covers southeastern China, North Korea, and parts of South Korea in this true-color Aqua MODIS image acquired December 27, 2002. The North Korean capital city of Pyongyang sits about 130 kilometers northwest of the South Korea border, while the South Korean capital city of Seoul sits only about 40 kilometers southeast of the border. MODIS also detected a fire, marked in red, burning on the southern edge of South Korea, about 50 kilometers northwest of the city of Pusan.
