Talk:Kopete

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

To-do list for Kopete:
  • history needs polishing
  • more information about the plugin-system
  • are there no interviews about kopete?
  • the screenshot sucks, we need one with:
more protocols (best would be all supported)
a chat window (for advertisment reason the jabber protocol should be used ;))
costum folder icons
costum contact icons
icons with picture form kaddressbook
one or two contacts which announce a online message (eg now listening)
and of course the names shouldn't be blured :/ ... looks ugly (they could be changed to something that doesn't exist via image editing program instead)

this freshmeat page indicates that kopete 0.1 was announced at November 16th 2001

I think we need all in all a more polished history, data as well as looking --TuX 17:19, 27 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] roadmap

What is a roadmap for software doing in ENCYCLOPEDIA ???? You guys are nuts...

[edit] name?

The name is really weird. I have no idea where it comes from. How about mentioning where the name comes from?

Already done.--Chealer 08:41, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
Really? Copete means drink? Surely that should be copita. --61.69.207.187 06:21, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
How is it pronounced? "ko pee tee" or "ko peet" Felipe1982 18:58, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
It is probably a Slang from [Chile]. From the 'Official Spanish Dictionary' [1|http://buscon.rae.es/draeI/SrvltConsulta?TIPO_BUS=3&LEMA=copete] copete is the foamy part on top of some drinks. It is pronounced (in spanish) ko-pe-te (the e like in Dr. Dre) PuercoPop (talk) 18:23, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Reverted addition of plugin descriptions

I reverted this addition of plugin descriptions by User:61.68.182.27 due to to the POV tone introduced. Most descriptions refer to "your" or "you". I'm sorry to remove this information, but I think it's better than to lose the NPOV tone. Please reword it. --Chealer 08:41, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] SMS? How do I get it?

I'm a user of KDE, and love Kopete. However, how do I get SMS with it? I'd love to integrate that with my use of other messaging, since my phone has a very awkward interface. Does anyone know where I can find the SMS plugin? --T3thys::ben 00:21, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] History

Should the whole history be here — is it really of interest to many people reading this article? Probably it should be on a kopete website (if an up-to-date one exists). I am not involved in the kopete project and put the back here to save the contents of the Kopete_Project_history from deletion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Diggory Hardy (talkcontribs) 08:26, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
