If you see an old key lying in the street or sitting on a table would you take it? or if you see a small piece of scrap paper with a number written on it would you take a note of the number? A key can allow you to open something that previously you could'nt. Maybe you are meant to pick a key up if you see one. Maybe a random scribble of numbers will help you later on.
