I have removed the assertion that Aseev had a plus record against Khalifman. I'm not sure this would be something worth pointing out in the article anyway (Aseev, after all, had plus records against a lot of players), but in any case, I don't think it's true. The games in the Chessbase Mega Database 2004 between the two players are:

  • Aseev-Khalifman, USSR U26 Championship 1985 (Lvov), 1-0
  • Khalifman-Aseev, Leningrad 1989, 0-1
  • Aseev-Khalifman, USSR Championship 1990, 1/2-1/2
  • Aseev-Khalifman, German Team Cup 1991, 1/2-1/2
  • Aseev-Khalifman, St Petersburg Championship 1997, 1/2-1/2
  • Khalifman-Aseev, St Petersburg 1997, 1-0
  • Khalifman-Aseev, St Petersburg Championship 1998, 1-0
  • Khalifman-Aseev, Russian Championship 1998, 1/2-1/2

To that we can add the following games not given there but given at chessgames.com:

  • Khalifman-Aseev, USSR 1983, 0-1
  • Aseev-Khalifman, USSR 1988, 1/2-1/2

By my reckoning, that's a record of +3 =5 -5 for Aseev.

It may be, of course, that there are other games given in neither of these sources which do indeed show Aseev has a positive record; if that's so, then by all means, state what that source is and prove me wrong!--Camembert 14:54, 7 May 2005 (UTC)
