Konoor is the name of a very ancient Christian family in the state of Kerala, India.
[edit] Description
The house name - Konoor derives from the name of a very ancient Brahmin illam. The Brahmins of Kerala are also called Namboothiries and their houses are called Brahmaalayam or Mana. The house is built according to the canons of Vaasthusaasthram, meaning architecture in Sanskrit language.
The descendants of this house adopted Christianity from the Apostle St. Thomas and are still known by the same family name. Most of these houses are now located mainly in and around Neeleeswaram village, near Kalady.
