Koninklijke Paketvaart-Maatschappij

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Koninklijke Paketvaart-Maatschappij (KPM)(Royal Packet Navigation Company) was a Dutch shipping company (1888-1966).

It maintained the connections between the islands of Indonesia.[1]

Established during the time of the colonial Dutch East Indies, it brought inter-island commerce through the Dutch capital, Batavia (now Jakarta) rather than to Singapore.[citation needed]

In the 1920's its working routes included regular weekly services between Singapore and Java, Singapore and Hong Kong.
