A fragment of Millenium of Rus' monument in Novgorod. The three tier monument opened in 1862 to a design of Mikhail Mikeshin (1836-1896) is a multifigure composition that includes the sculptures of 129 historic and allegoric characters. Konstantin Konstantinovich Ostrozhsky's sculpture is in in the lower tier among the "enlighteners" for his role in founding the Orthodox schools and the typography in the Ruthenian territories dominated by Catholic Poland.
