Kodavasal is panchayat town between thiruvarur and kumbakonam.As of 2001 India censusGRIndia, Kodavasal had a population of 13,247. Males constitute 49% of the population and females 51%. Kodavasal has an average literacy rate of 72%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 78%, and female literacy is 66%. In Kodavasal, 10% of the population is under 6 years of age.Here Government boys higher secondary school and Government girls higher secondary schools are there.There is no college in kodavasal.But in manjakudi(village 2kms away from kodavasal towards thiruvarur)one school named Swami Dayananda higher secondary schooland one of their Arts and Science college is there.There is one traditional temple named koneswarar temple built by Raja Raja Cholan and the god is Lord Shiva.-- 16:04, 7 August 2006 (UTC)S.Raj Thilak
