Knott's Soak City

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Knott's Soak City is a chain of three water parks located in Southern California. The chain is owned by Cedar Fair Entertainment Company.

Soak City in Orange County opened in 1999. The park is located just across the street from Knott's Berry Farm. It sits on 13 acres of lands and includes a wide variety of attractions. For the little ones there is Gremmie Lagoon, a nice spot for the little ones to get acquainted to the water park stlye. For the adventure seekers, Malibu Run, and its four slides, Dropoff, Wave Chaser, Heavy Swell, and Rincon, as well as Old Man Falls, a 62-foot high, triplet of speed slides. There is also the Laguna Storm Watch Tower, which offers three completely enclosed slides, and don't forget Banzai Falls, a six-lane waterslide race down bumps. There is also a 1/3 mile long lazy river, as well as three-story tall family fun area called the Toyota Beach House, which consists of two slides. There is also Tidal Wave Bay, a 750,000 gallon wave pool.

In 2006, all three of the Soak City water parks got a new addition in the form of Pacific Spin. This attraction can best be described as an enclosed tube, with a drop into a six-story funnel laying on its side. Riders ride up and down the sides of the funnel, like a skateboarder riding a half-pipe.

As of 2008, none of the Soak City parks have announced any new attractions, but generally, whenever Knott's Berry Farm adds a new attraction, the Soak City parks are not long to follow by adding one of their own.
