[edit] Is This User Vadalising ?

Is this user vandalising? He/she has changed my pic on my talkpage to one of the images he has uploaded here (now corrected) - and they seem to have uploaded a variety of questionable pics. The pic on my talk page was not just changed, the old file was completely overwritten by one of the images they have uploaded here. There is a potential problem here because my image was a copyright free image which I had uploaded, so effectively he hijacked my copyright free image and replaced it with an image whose copyright may be questionable. My own image, Image:Chrissy.jpg , was completely ovewritten by one of the images listed here with questionable copyright, namely Image:NHchrissy.jpg.

Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

Please do not mistag images when you upload them. You recently uploaded images for use at List of The Real Orange County cast members that were are clearly copyrighted/fair use images, but tagged them as {{pd-self}}. Please do not mistag images; copyright considerations are taken very seriously on Wikipedia, and uploading copyrighted/fair use images and tagging them inappropriately is not condoned. --Kinu t/c 03:48, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
