I work as an operations research consultant specialising in the application of mathematical programming techniques such as LP, SLP, MIP to oil refinery planning problems. I am often asked for reference materials, but there is little publicly available that reflects the commercial rather than the academic use of these techinques. So, conceding that I will never ever find the time to write a text book and being a greate fan of Wiki, I have resolved to learn how to edit and see if I can stimulate the creation of some useful resources, by putting some of my knowledge in.
