After having a disagreement with another editor, do not leave the dispute open ended. Say a few kind words, agree to disagree, talk about something else or work together on an article. At Wikipedia you will meet the same people over and over again. If you leave a trail of enemies, they may eventually gang up against you.

Sometimes it can be difficult to back away from a dispute in public. If you do not feel comfortable discussing the disagreement via talk pages, private communications such as Internet relay chat (IRC) are often helpful.
