[edit] Biologist

Is he not a biologist? Grante, the sole entry I could find about it was in Polish on some minor portal, but if he is, then Category:Russian biologist would be applicable, right? Unless it's just a dipolma he helds and he has done little or no work in this field since his studies? Btw, this English article [1] describes him as a paleontologist.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus Talk 13:19, 26 December 2005 (UTC)

He could have graduated from a microbiologist institition, but his notability is due to the sci-fi he published. Unfortunately, I know nothing about modern Russian sci-fi writers, although Vadim Panov is one of perennial favorites in my family. I will ask User:Strannik to add more data on him. --Ghirla | talk 13:32, 26 December 2005 (UTC)

He is paleontologist. Sci-fi writing is his hobby.

[edit] Name

I will leave the correct name (Kiryl, Kiril or Kirill, and Polish Wiki, for what it's worth, redirects those to Cyryl) to Russian native speakers, but I'd just like to point out that Google for Kirill Yeskov gives 13 hits while Kiril Yeskov gives 2,100.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus Talk 13:19, 26 December 2005 (UTC)

Yandex search yields 9,739 results. --Ghirla | talk 13:26, 26 December 2005 (UTC)
Good enough for me. So is Kirill the proper spelling of Cyril, or are they two different names?--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus Talk 15:21, 26 December 2005 (UTC)
Russian Kirill and English Cyril are two versions of the same Greek name - Kyrillos. --Ghirla | talk 15:22, 26 December 2005 (UTC)
