Kipp Lynn Academy

KIPP Academy Lynn Charter School in the United States provides an environment where the students of Lynn, Massachusetts (a city infested with gangs and drugs on the outskirts of Boston, Massachusetts) may develop the academic skills, intellectual habits, and character traits necessary to maximize their potential in high school, college, and the world beyond. KIPP Academy Lynn (often referred to as 'KIPP Lynn') is modeled after the nationally-recognized Knowledge Is Power Program in South Bronx, New York and Houston, Texas. KIPP Lynn is a free, public middle school that opened its doors August 9th, 2004 to its first class of fifth graders. KIPP Lynn is now at full capacity, serving grades five through eight in the 2007-2008 school year.
KIPP Lynn's founding class of fifth graders (who started in 2004) are now in their last year at KIPP. Many students of this class - deemed the Class of 2012 (2012 is the year in which this class will graduate from high school and go to college) - are looking into independent schools for high school. The focus of KIPP Lynn's Class of 2012 is to transition from middle school into high school, as well as setting a good example for the younger classes.
