Lucky D'urban Burgess (found 1995 Kawakawa - died 18 December 2006)
A stray cat found in Kawakawa 1995 by the Du Burgess (or D'urban Burgess) family. He was an abandoned kitten that was very sociable. He wasn't the only cat of the Du Burgess family, Clarence a male tabby, about 11 years older then Lucky. On the 13 June 1995 Lucky chased Clarence to the roadside where Clarence got hit by a car. The family moved to Auckland in 2000, leaving Lucky with their grandmother and her two cats. Lucky later returned to his family later that year. On the 18 of December 2006 he was bought to the vet after not eating, losing weight and not being very sociable. The vet found that Lucky had Lymphoma and the family did what was best for him and put him down. He is now buried in the family home near the spot where he was found the last two times he was outside. It was also the birthday of a family member Liam
