Kingwood High School Renovation - Bond funds have provided the money to bring Kingwood High into compliance with Texas Education Agency current standards for classroom size. The renovations and additions will eliminate the use of portable buildings, provide a learning environment in which temperatures and humidity can be effectively controlled, and provide spaces designed for specific instructional and co-curricular activities instead of "make-shift" spaces. In summary, 108,000 square feet (10,000 m²) will be added and 371,000 square feet (34,500 m²) of existing space will be renovated. Currently, there are 12 portable buildings in which 550 students attend classes daily. When the renovations are complete, Kingwood High will have a capacity of 2,800 without the use of portable buildings.
The renovations at Kingwood High will create 63 properly sized classrooms and 17 science classroom/ labs. Four teaching theaters, eight business labs, practice areas for dance and drill teams, and a renovated auditorium that includes a new scene shop and a black box theater are included in the renovations. Completely new finishes, including carpet, ceiling tile, lighting and paint, will be provided throughout the school. Also, a new roof, lockers, electrical, plumbing and air-conditioning systems will be installed. The school will be designed so that students may be grouped into houses, allowing counselors, assistant principals and teachers to focus on a specific group of students.
[edit] Mission Statement
The mission of Kingwood High School is to create a collaborative learning environment that is supportive, challenging, and disciplined, resulting in life-long learners whose exemplary performance is a credit to themselves and their community.

[edit] Alma Mater [Pledge to Kingwood]
Kingwood High, we pledge to you,
Honor and respect.
For you stand that we may learn
Wonders, then reflect.
As we spread throughout the land,
Knowledge is our light.
Through life's struggles we recall
Kingwood's "Blue and White."
[edit] Fight Song
Fight, you mighty Mustangs,
Win the game tonight;
Show the other team who's
Behind the blue and white.
The best is what we'll be when
We're put to the test;
Let's show them, Kingwood Mustangs
GO-FIGHT-WIN
Go you mighty Mustangs,
With victory in sight,
Win you mighty Mustangs,
Let's take that game tonight.
GO-FIGHT-WIN
Our Mustang pride will lead us to victory again!
