King of the Gypsies is a 1978 dramatic movie starring Sterling Hayden, Eric Roberts, Judd Hirsch, Brooke Shields, Shelley Winters, Susan Sarandon and Annette O'Toole. It was directed by Frank Pierson and is rated R.
[edit] Plot
The king (Hayden) of the gypsies on his deathbed passes his crown to his unwilling grandson (Roberts). Jealous that that he wasn't selected, the grandson's father (Hirsch) begins plotting the death of his son. Even though he is almost willing to give up his throne to his dad, the son decides to be devoted to his traditions. Brooke Shields plays his sister and Annette O'Toole plays his girl friend.
