King Broadcasting Company

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

King Broadcasting Company was a Seattle, Washington media conglomerate founded by Dorothy Bullitt. It began with one FM radio station, and grew to include a large group of broadcast television and radio stations, as well as a cable television network. It was sold to Providence Journal in 1992 which was sold to Belo in 1998.

The King Broadcasting name lives on as a holding company within Belo's corporate structure; it is still the licensee for the former King Broadcasting television stations.
