Hi Kim, I'm thinking about the organization of the Drosophila articles in de.wikipedia (things like "what information should be in Drosophila melanogaster only and what is also valid for the genus") and found out, that Drosophila melanogaster species subgroup and Drosophila melanogaster species group have own articles here. Wouldn't it be better to reintegrate that information in the Drosophila-article? yakuba, pseuoobscura, annanassae, virilis and so on could each get their own article instead. Hello Kim, obviously I have my own selfish reasons for asking this, but do you really want to try to go forward with your rfa against Guy Montag? I think it is at least just as equally as likely that you will be sanctioned considering the fact that you have been accused of similar behavior in another dispute at an ongoing rfa. Hi, I've been away on holiday for a few weeks and on my return I find all hell seems to have broken loose. I can't draw all the tattered threads together to make sense of it all so I may well keep away from the whole thing unless you think I could contribute anything. Hi, I'm tyring to get an article I wrote on G. Ledyard Stebbins featured, I've seen you working on evolution related pages and I thought you might be able to give me some advice. Some users have commented that they don't think that I have made his contributions to science obvious enough - to me it is very clear, and I tend to think discussing everything he ever wrote about would clutter up the page and totally confuse the reader given the average persons scientific literacy and trhe fact her wrote over 280 papers on diverse topics. Hi Kim ... Please give this a second look and consider undeleting this page as the band has a notable member Kiki Webb. According to Wikipedia guidelines WP:BAND "A musician or ensemble (note that this includes a band, singer, rapper, orchestra, hip hop crew, DJ, musical theatre group, etc.) is notable if it meets any one of the following criteria: ... has been featured in multiple non-trivial published works in reliable and reputable media"

Both Kiki Webb AND dancing Light have been featured in multiple non-trivial published works in reliable and reputable media. References can be provided, if needed.

We understand that you protected this page as a result of its recreation. We are all new to Wikipedia, here. We thought we were doing the right thing by recreating a better article that would show its deservability for inclusion.

Hi Kim, are you sure that you (as an admin) know enough about the requirements of the GFDL? I'm asking because of your revert on [2]. That was wrong. But the request for deletion was correct. You have to state the main authors of each page, to give its history, link the original and so on; otherwise a page violates the GFDL. User:Dudenfreund is also well known as a troll. Obviously he changed several links on those pages so that quotes became absolutely wrong and misleading. Also look at the red links on this page. Elian and BdK, two leading german admins already requested "their copies" to be deleted. "Hans Bug", the user of which the most sub pages are copied from, is a banned user, who wrote a lot of personal attacks against German Wikipedia's admins like your D. Brandt did (and these attacks are stored on those pages by Dudenfreund). It would be very welcomed if you could have a second look and delete all the stuff. Kim: Please do listen to David Weinberger's talk [3] about experts and Wikipedia. I know it is difficult to know the technical Truth about some subject realted to your real-life career and have to deal with a consensus that does not defer to your expertise. this reminds me of the days ages (months?) ago, when WP:EXPERT was being discussed.

Ever since a certain vandal started harassing you after you blocked him for harassing me, I've had your homepage on my watchlist, so I'm sad to read that you may be reducing your role here, or leaving altogether. You make excellent contributions here, and are a valuable editor to have around.

On the other hand, it may well be that the best place for scientists and experts to be is not editing encyclopedias, summarizing and aggregating the work that's been done before. Guys like me who are experts on very little (some computer science, a topic I spend comparitively little time working on here) can do that. Instead, it could be argued that you'll help others best by engaging in research and publishing your findings, so that those of us who aren't suited to that task can still build a better encyclopedia. Either way, do what you think is best for yourself and for those you care about.

But don't let the politics of this place get you down.

Despite all the shit which goes on around here (and there's a lot of it to be sure), Wikipedia is still a good encyclopedia. Of course, even the best encyclopedia will pale next to a subject-specific text when it comes to in-depth coverage of a particular topic. And on some topics, such as the Israel/Palestine conflict, there may never be a truly NPOV treatment of the subject--anywhere--which is factual, comprehensive, and up-to-date. Strive for perfection, but remember that like infinity, it is a goal to be approached but never reached.

You just deleted this. The pamphlet will not have been for profit as it would be a goverment information leaflet and - would that affect trhe decision? If not, please can you leave the internal links where they are and let me have a copy of the deleted article? I can then try and come up with something better?
