[edit] Biography

Mullen earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at Ohio State University, with majors in international studies, psychology and political science.[1] The international studies component saw her focus on Middle Eastern politics and economics. Mullen learned the Arabic language to get a better handle on the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks and varying world perspectives. During college, Mullen was a fashion model working in such places as Miami, New York City, Atlanta and Europe for such clients as W Magazine, KIA, L'Oreal, and various designers as well as in such movies as 'Any Given Sunday' (Dir Oliver Stone). Following graduation, Mullen the pursued a Master of Humanities degree as a graduate student at Wright State University while working part-time as a government contractor for H.J. Ford/Department of Defense. She eventually had hoped to earn a Ph.D. in political science/international development but is aiming for an MBA with an international operational focus.

In 2005 she joined talent management group Artist International Management as a talent manager and VP of International Affairs, handling business with international investors as well as expanding the company into Dubai, UAE. Now living in New York City, Miss Mullen is still focusing on business, in particular the commercial real estate industry, and expanding in the international sector.

She has been romantically linked to professional golfer George Gankas as well as Olympic athlete Bode Miller.

[edit] Pageantry

Mullen competed in the Miss Ohio USA pageant in 1998 at the age of 18, making the semifinals. She competed again as Miss Dublin USA in the Miss Ohio USA 2002 pageant held on November 18, 2001 as Miss Dublin USA, and won the title and Miss Photogenic award.

Mullen went on to represent Ohio in the Miss USA 2002 pageant broadcast live from Gary, Indiana in March 2002 in the nationally televised pageant, which was won by Shauntay Hinton of the District of Columbia.

[edit] Survivor

Three years later Mullen competed on Survivor: Palau, as a member of the ill-fated Ulong tribe.[2] At first, she did not have any trouble in the game but later some of her tribe members accused her of being lazy.[3] She received a stay of execution on two counts when Ashlee Ashby and Jeff Wilson asked to be voted out due to separate physical complications. Later, in a one-on-one immunity challenge, Mullen was the only female Ulong to fail her portion of the game (against Janu Tornell). Although the tribe managed to rebound from a considerable deficit, they still lost. Mullen was voted out unanimously, which she blamed on fellow contestant James Miller.[4] Tornell had also previously competed at Miss USA, having held the title Miss Nevada USA 1988.
