Kim Chance is a current Australian Labor Party MP in the Parliament of Western Australia, and is Minister for Agriculture and Food, Forestry, the Mid West and Wheatbelt and Great Southern. He is an old boy of Wesley College, Perth.
He first entered politics as a farming industry delegate, where he served as the Western Australian delegate to the Australian Farmers Federation in 1978 and the National Farmers Federation in 1979.
In April 1992, as the result of a casual vacancy, he entered parliament for the Agricultural region, where he was re-elected in 1996, 2001 and once again in 2005.
At the start of his parliamentary career he was the Opposition portfolios of Lands, Mid West and Wheatbelt and assisted the Shadow Health Minister. From 1995 until he was elected to government, he was incharge of the Primary Industry and Fisheries Shadow portfolios.
