Kilmacow

Kilmacow (Cill Mhic Bhúith in Irish) is a small village in south County Kilkenny, Ireland. Situated just 8 km from Waterford City, Kilmacow consists of an Upper and Lower Village approximately 1 km apart. The population of each of the villages is just under 700, while that of the Kilmacow area as a whole totals over 2,000.

Kilmacow has three primary schools: a mixed school at Strangsmills, a boys' school in Dangan, and a girls' school in the Upper Village.

Pubs in Kilmacow include The Den, The Thatch, Irishes, Cookes (currently closed), and Carrol's (Seanti) & Kearn's.

Kilmacow has a hurling team which competes in the Junior Hurling Championship. However, they have failed to win the championship since 1956.
