Kilcummin

Kilcummin is the beachhead on the west coast of County Mayo, in northwestern Ireland, where General Humbert landed on August 22, 1798, in a failed attempt to invade Ireland. General Humbert commanded three frigates the Concorde, Franchise, and the Médée altogether carrying 1070 French forces, 3 cannons, and approximately 3000 muskets. [1][2]
