The Kia Elan is a convertible automobile produced by Kia from 1996 to 1997. It was a licensed copy of Lotus's Type M100 Elan, which was built from 1989 to 1995.

After the final production run of the Lotus Elan in 1995, Kia began manufacturing their own version under license. Outwardly the Kia version looks almost identical to the original. The biggest difference is the 1.8 litre, 151 hp (113 kW) engine Kia used in place of Isuzu's 1.6 litre, 162 hp (121 kW) Lotus engine.

    • Kia Elan  : 1.8L DOHC 151 bhp (113 kW) 0-100 km/h: 8.7 sec., top speed: 216 km/h (134 mph)
    • Lotus Elan : 1.6L DOHC "turbocharged" 162 bhp (121 kW) 0-100 km/h: 6.5 sec., top speed: 221 km/h (137 mph)
