KFPT (790 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a Sports radio format. Licensed to Clovis, California, USA, the station serves the Fresno area. The station is currently owned by Fat Dawgs 7 Broadcasting, LLC and features programing from Jones Radio Network, ABC Radio and ESPN Radio.[1]

The station went on the air as KXTC on 1984-05-01. on 1988-09-28, the station changed its call sign to KOQO, on 1998-02-02 to KOOR, on 2005-07-04 to the current KFPT,[2]

In the 1980s, the station aired Beautiful Music with the callsign KXTC. The call letters were meant to imply "Ecstasy". Prior to becoming a Talk station, 790 was Spanish-language KOOR.

In February 2007, KFPT AM 790 was purchased by Peak Broadcasting, owners of local Central Valley ESPN radio affiliate KFIG, AM 1430. The cost of the purchase was approximately $2.5 million.[3] It was then sold to Fat Dawgs 7 Broadcasting for $2.4 million. On April 2, 2007 KFPT changed their format from progressive talk to sports, with programming from ESPN Radio.
