[edit] Merge?
- I feel a numeric keypad is specific to a computer keyboard, and is worth its own little article. Keypads cover all sorts of other devices - telephone keypads, calculators, door entry systems... Therefore, I'm against the merge. Davidbod 23:41, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
there should be an explanation of how keypads work (contacts on PCB, carbon pils on silicon keypad etc)
I agree that computer keyboard numeric keypads (standalone or otherwise) and phone keypads are sufficiently different things to warrant separate entries. Their applications are in different fields, appropriate for the outputs they need to put off. --SD
Numeric keypads are a type of keypad. They are a subset of the larger catagory "keypad". Therefore, they could be included in the same entry, though they warrant noting separately.
